Scholarships available

The Women’s Resource Center is excited to announce that we have been able to re-open The Osher Re-entry and Simmons Family Foundation Scholarships for Fall 2017 semester and we are hoping that you will share this information with the students connected to your office. The deadline for applications is August 30, 2017. Please see the information below about each scholarship and a link to the application.

The Osher Re-entry Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1977 by Bernard Osher to assist adult learners, of all gender identities, at The University of Utah who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree. The scholarship amount ranges between $500-$1000 per semester and must be used for tuition only.
Requirements:
- Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or greater (both individual semester and cumulative overall GPA)
- Must be between 25-50 years of age
- Must have a gap of at least five years in your high school to college or in your college education, this gap can be consecutive or cumulative
- Be a resident of the state of Utah, as defined by The University of Utah’s Registrar’s Office
- Be admitted to The University of Utah working toward completion of an undergraduate degree
- Be a matriculated student at The University of Utah
- Be working toward first Bachelor’s degree
- Maintain a minimum of part-time enrollment of 6 or more credit hours at The University of Utah
- Preference will be given to those with financial need as determined by federal guidelines
The Simmons Family Foundation was created to assist self-identified women who are single-parents who are seeking a degree at The University of Utah. The scholarship is $1,000 per semester. Graduate & undergraduate students may apply.
Requirements:
- Have and maintain a GPA of 2.7 or greater (both individual semester and cumulative overall GPA)
- Must be a single parent who is the sole provider for the child(ren)
- Be admitted to The University of Utah working toward completion of an undergraduate degree or be admitted to a graduate program
- Be working toward first Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree
- Be a matriculated student at The University of Utah
- Maintain full-time enrollment for both Fall and Spring semesters at The University of Utah (12 credit hours for undergraduate degree and 9 credit hours for graduate degree)
- Self-identify as a woman
- Able to establish financial need
