Project Opportunity!

Connexion Point, a local data company in the health services space, is looking for Computer Science students to help with two projects. The first will involves working on a solution that consists of a mobile application which captures images and voice annotation of food, and translates the information to calories. It will include elements of advanced analytics such as machine learning and collaborative filtering. Python, Ruby or Java are the preferred programming languages. Students will also be mentored by and work directly with the Chief Data Scientist of the company.
The second project is focused on optimizing the on-line marketing spend on search terms and display advertising. The goal of the project is to automate biding on search terms and to discover new terms. The project will involve pulling data from Google’s API and other sources to collect metrics as well as sampling various sources to discover new search terms. This project supports data scientists building machine learning models, some understanding of statistics or machine learning would be preferred. Programming language used are Java & Python.
