Peer Mentoring
The School of Computing introduces a new Peer Mentoring program for CS students. Peer mentoring often increases a student’s sense of belonging to a community. Mentors, who are full CS majors, help guide first-year CS students (mentees). This guidance is designed to lead to effective acclimation to the CS program, as well as campus life. Mentors can also offer support and advocacy in a challenging degree path by steering mentees to areas of interest, facilitating collaboration with peers, and sharing knowledge.
To find out more about the program and sign up, see the Computer Science Program Canvas course. (If you have not yet enrolled in this Canvas course, see www.cs.utah.edu/join). The deadline to sign up for the Peer Mentoring program, as a mentor or a mentee is Friday, September 1st.
