First Annual PIPELINE Career Expo

The School of Computing held its first annual PIPELINE Career Expo in September. The event was held on September 14th in the Union Ballroom and brought together more than 350 undergraduate and graduate students with 18 companies and organizations.

“The event was a great success, we look forward to continuing this event in the years to come,” says John Melchi, Associate Director of Business Affairs in the School of Computing.

Save the date – next year’s event will be held September 20, 2019.

SoC Co-sponsors VR@50 SIGGRAPH event honoring Ivan Sutherland

The School of Computing, along with the SCI Institute, Harvard University, NVidia, and FaceBook Reality Labs sponsored a reception honoring Ivan Sutherland. The reception was held during the SIGGRAPH 2018 conference along with a panel discussion on virtual reality.

Sneha Kasera to serve as COE Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

Sneha Kasera will serve as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Engineering. He will begin serving immediately.

Dr. Kasera’s research is on networks and systems, including technologies, protocols, and applications that encompass mobile and pervasive systems, wireless networks, network security and reliability. He is the founding director of the Master of Software Development program, and has been a member of the School of Computing Executive Committee. He came to the U in 2003 from the Mobile Networking Research Department of Bell Labs.
