Where is DESTDIR supposed to come from?

If you use 
 configure --prefix=SOMEDIR
then `make install' after `make' installs to SOMEDIR.

Also, unless you use --enable-dynlib, you can always move an
installation and re-run the "configure" script in the plt directory
(which simply updates the path in the plt/bin scripts).
