There is virtually no tosh being spoken about Free Software on this
list. The topic rarely comes up, if ever. Perhaps you're confusing
this list for some other venue. Even then, I've spoken against Open
Source as a methodology for building languages. Given that Open
Source is orthogonal to Freedom (as you yourself point out), you'd
have to be spoiling to pick an argument to read these comments as
"trash[ing] the GNU project's work"!

I don't like Guile, I don't use Guile, I have never trashed anything
else by GNU, and I have long been a fan of Stallman and his project.
If I rummage around, I can probably still find my LPF material; when
we moved last month, I found my Apple-as-a-vicious-snake button; and
I'm a contributing author to the first Free Software Magazine. Any
other ideological tests you'd like to administer? If not, can we
avoid taking this personally, and seeing the comments about Guile for
what they are -- comments about Guile -- and nothing more?
