Lead Developer

Highly relevant growing eCommerce and End-to End (E2E) business and government services company looking for a high energy leader who can work with C level and executive team to achieve an organized, highly efficient practice. Ability to inspire and achieve buy in from executive team as well as subordinates is a must. The key focus is an ecommerce offering and technology, integrating various protocols, middleware, web and responsive / mobile technologies. The candidate’s background must show a progression of responsibilities, building solutions, managing teams and leading projects.

This opportunity allows you to help establish a development and procedural roadmap as well as coding while driving and coaching team members. You’ll be a person who’s there for the good times as well as the bad. You’ll enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty – and being there when the going gets rough.

The candidate will have the following experience:

  • Role of lead technologist / able to participate in direction and structure
  • Architecting and designing custom technology solutions, spanning web & mobile applications, ERP and customized eCommerce platforms
  • Experience designing and building eCommerce solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple solutions, vendors and collaborate between them
  • Designing, planning and implementing innovative technology solutions for unique business requirements

Required Skills

  • A keen eye for design and/or are very design oriented (Pixel perfect)
  • HTML/HTML5
  • CSS2/CSS3
  • Javascript
  • Consistent source documentation
  • Expert in at least one of the major JS libraries such as jQuery or Underscore
  • Strong knowledge of cross-browser issues and compatibilities
  • Conversant with at least one of the major CSS pre-processors (Stylus, LESS, Sass)
  • Conversant with at least one of the major version control systems (Git, Mercurial, Subversion, TFS)
  • Comfortable with command-line (bash)
  • Conversant with basic NodeJS tools such as npm, bower, GruntJS
  • Conversant with image manipulation tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Adaptability to a variety of design and dev environments, operating systems and tools (OS X, Open Source, Windows, .NET)
  • Object Oriented Programming
  • MySQL Administration
  • Full Stack Developer

Responsibilities

  • Support and drive management strategy formulation, strategic process improvements and communication of strategies to all stakeholders
  • Oversee the communication of technology achievements and releases; prepare monthly senior strategic updates
  • Develop and enforce standards that drive the organization to meeting its target state strategic goals
  • Assume management of several development projects, using Agile methodology
  • Drive project management standards as well as development and QA standards through procedural changes and coaching.
  • Ability to partner with team to spec new solutions with a detail oriented nature
  • Schedule releases and maintain a timely deployment schedule
  • Establish software management and improvement processes
  • Recruit and manage a growing team of internal developers and support staff
  • Plan and implement the technical evolution of platforms

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science; MS preferred
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience as a full-stack developer
  • 3 or more years as a hands-on development team leader
  • 3 or more years as a hands-on project manager
